Month that was...

August 2008 was a remarkable month in Indian sporting history as well as a month that will be remembered for long in jammu as well as kashmir. India finally won a gold medal in individual competition at the olympics and to top it off there were 2 bronze medals to add to it. Also India for the first time wona bilateral odi series in srilanka. Now to some serious news: The pro amarnath land revocation protests continued from july and showed no signs of dying down with people in jammu looking to do what it hadnt done for the past 55 years since Praja Parishad movement. Unite and Fight for injustice. Well was it really injustice some might ask. Anyhow things went onto overboil with continous bandhs in jammu causing disruption in traffic on NH-1A to srinagar. This caused a lot of inconviniences to the locals of kahsmir as they complained of economic blockade. This was just the ignition temp for the pro azadi sentiments to make its way back after being subsided for some years now. Even though the protests in jammu were for amarnath land the protests in kashmir were to gain freedom (पता नई क्या करेंगे इंडिया से अलग होके ) and this took and ugly turn with the hurriyat combining and raising muzaffarabad chalo slogans. I dont know what the people over there were thinking (पासपोर्ट नाम की भी कोई चीज़ होती है कि नई कल को वहा चले भी जाते तो वापिस कौन आने देता बिना पासपोर्ट के और ऐसे भी कौनसा पाकिस्तान welcome कर रहा था उनको ) anyhow what was bound to happen , happened. Indian forces had imposed curfew and then with protesters not relenting in came firing orders killing many protestors including Sheikh Abdul Aziz. Indian force as well as NSA still says firing wasnt done by Indian forces and no such orders were given but noone really believes that. But if actually they are to be believed then this could have been a handiwork of ISI sponsored people trying to put petrol int the fire. Whatever be the case Geelani died and this triggered more protests defying curfews and hence more killings in retaliation by force. Similar thing happened in kishtwar with peoplw killed in a grenade explosion and the majority community there levelling charges against police. But here I doubt cause Indian police does not have access to grenades cause they are for supressing such protests even Indian army cant take out such weapons without a grenade launcher and I have no doubts that Indain army wont take out grenade launchers to stop protests( अकाल क्या घास चरने गई है आर्मी लोगों पे ग्रेनेड फेंकेगी ये कोई बच्चो का खेल है क्या? और फ़िर protests रोकने के लिए रबड़ bullets और tear gas use करते है and firing in air to disperse and firing on people is done as a last resort) anyways its simple and easy to spread misinformation in such volatile areas but what people need to understand is to use brain. In the first instance see how the kashmiri locals were misled. The order was always to provide land for temporary shelter to the pilgrims. How the hell was it going to change demography of kashmir remains a mystery. And then how was it going to counteract 370 ?? I still don't know. Anyhow with curfew continuously imposed and trucks supplying necessary commodities to kashmir under army supervision has led to some subsiding of protests in kashmir.Mean while bandhs continued in Jammu and in the last week some solutions started making its way out.3 rounds of talks in one day with finally a marathon talk in the intervening night of 30 and 31 gave a much needed relief to jammuites and smile and happiness spread all over the province. People on 31 woke to alarming sounds of bullets and grenades only to find out that it was only diwali crackers burnt to show the happiness. People even lit up their homes on 31 night with candles to show the happiness with the agreement after 2 month long agitation. Bam Bam Bhole

Review: WALL-E

WALL-E is another superbly created artwork from Pixar. People at Pixar studios know how to create life out of nowhere. After Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, WALL-E is again some movie which has 98 minutes of cuteness sprayed all around be the Waste Allocated Load Lifter Earth class(WALL-E) or EVE or the cockroach. This movie is about a robot which has still manages to survive on earth, an earth which is completely covered with waste dump wall-e is always doing its job of making blocks of the junk waste. The movie is placed in 28th century I guess and is mainly about wall-e and how he yearns for a partner while he is all alone on the earth. Eve reaches earth on a probe to find if photosynthesis and hence life is sustainable on earth. The movie takes on from here and makes you feel happy throughout. It is one emotional movie targeted at kids and grown-ups alike and I am sure its going to reduce the stress levels a lot. So dont hesitate to take a peek at your nearest plex of this beautiful artwork. Pixar does it again and this movie after Ratatouille may again look for the next Oscar. Rating wise it surely deserves a 7 out of 10 considering the standards already set by the Pixar studios. I am adding two stills for this movie coz it deserves them.

Review: Phoonk

Hmmm. What to say. when u know about Aag from RGV you know there cant be anything lower but somehow he manages to lower his standards every next movie. Not this time though Phoonk after Aag is something to cheer about for Ramu. Well there was Sarkar Raj and Contract in between though Sarkar Raj did manage to invite some audience owing to success of Sarkar Contract didnt leave a trace. But Phoonk is again a movie which is there to thrill away from melodrama and underworld stuff. Its in continuation of genre he made in Raat and Koun. This movie is to thrill but what RGV said about the movie I couldnt find even a trace of that. ( रामू काका होर्रो का तो नामोनिशान नई है किस होर्रो की बात कर रहे थे आप)There is no horror yes a bit of thrill. But if you have seen Exhorcist you might think its based on that but it isnt mmmm well this movie is about black magic, exhorcism about vodoo dolls so thats what Indian audience hasnt seen for a while. script is not powerful acting wise not many make a mark (except of course the little girl Ahsaas Channa(Raksha) who has already acted in KANK,
My friend Ganesha and Vaastushastra) but just for the change it gives it is bringing in nice audience. Even though it lacks a strong script it still is going to make RGV cheer. Rating wise I would give it 5 out of 10. It is not a Satya form RGV but for sure it is not pathetic.

Review: Mumbai Meri Jaan

Really one word OUTSTANDING. This is a real masterpiece well scripted by Yogesh Vinayak Joshi and equally well directed by Nishikant Kamat. I say this is a master piece bexause it has all the ingredients to win many awards at the national academy awards. It is not about terrorism nor about any police criminal raids and racket. Its purely about the spirit of mumbai. Soha Ali Khan looks beautiful as usual. But from acting point of view everyone is awesome. From start Irfan Khan looks like himself though his dialouges are a treat and this movie surely lacking some of them. K K Menon is superb and i liked his scenes the most especially the one in whcih he meets yousuf at the end. Paresh Rawal's last speech was also one another point to talk about in the movie. madhavan is good with his acting too. I bet this movie is going to get more than just one drop of tear from your eyes. This was a one in a thousand movie and after many years i was able to feel the emotions in a bollywood flick. last time this happened was with munna bhai mbbs. but now this ones really pushing hard for the top honors this year. After the bomb blasts in mumbai the film city was demanding a movie on itself and here it is and its not disappointing anyone. If I would rate it out of 10 its sure going to be above 8. a movie worth 10 times the ticket you might pay for it. And Ronnie Screwala must be a happy man.

Hello World

It was high time, with everyone creating his own blog and me having lots and lots of time which could have been put to some useful destructive work(खली दिमाग शैतान का घर वाला टाइम था मेरे पास) , that i created one for me too. First things first.. it didnt cost any bucks.. and for the time being only thing it cost was time which i already had loads of in the stock. I got many suggestions and thoughts about the contents of my blog but what the hell it was my blog (मेरी मर्ज़ी जो मर्ज़ी करू इस के साथ) so i just asked myself what to write.. well in the 4 years of engineering i had done loads of things and why not i share my life on this blog. So this blog should contain whatever i did in my college life as I remember and what i am going to do afterwards. I might also give various reviews in between blogs on various movies games music. But mind you this blog is not for the critics. Don't read it if u want to criticize my blog.
Ps:- if u liked this blog you might also want to have a look at my friends blog which might have some similar topics and similar issues to talk on his blog The big bad blog of the glorious notoriousness at
